Ruth Vlahou
My thirty years’ work experience in Education in different roles and diverse cross-cultural contexts has provided me with a deep insight into the behaviour and mental thought processes of students of all ages, enabling me to fully comprehend the difficulties they face both academically and emotionally.
Experience has shown me that when adolescents have an awareness of their inner resources and the skills to draw upon these, and make conscious use of their strengths, their interest and enthusiasm are developed and sustained, their well-being is fostered and, by extension, their learning acquires meaning.
My signature strengths are kindness, hope, social Intelligence, creativity and love of learning.

The current volatile conditions in which adolescents are required to grow have directed me in seeking new understandings, new approaches and skills to facilitate their learning and their socio-emotional development.

Rania Pothitaki, in her capacity as Headteacher of Moraitis Junior High School, delivered a speech hosted by the “Friends of Music Society”, Megaron-Athens Concert Hall on November 24, 2021. The event was organised by the Society for the Study of Modern Greek Culture and General Education (Εταιρεία Σπουδών Νεοελληνικού Πολιτισμού και Γενικής Παιδείας), founded by Moraitis School. The academic symposium, titled “Life with Covid-19,” aimed to examine the effects of the pandemic on modern Greek reality and to document its impact on various aspects of life. Specifically, Rania Pothitaki’s speech focused on tracing the impact of the changes and new challenges on adolescent students.
